Many Plugins/Hacks

Posted by: Jennifer In: WordPress Bookmarks to Plugins

I found the following plugins on Blogging Pro:

WP Amazon
Easily add links to products mentioned in your post

WordPress Email Notification
Let users sign up to be notified of emails when you post something new
(although bloglet has been working okay for me)

Automatic Images for headlines
Generates PNGs for your headlines.

Pictorialis
wordpress powered photoblogging

And these from Weblog Tools Collection:

Sticky Post Hack
Get a post to stay indefinitely (until you decide) at the top of your blog

MooseCandy
Sticks content above your post (example shows Google Ad Sense banner)

(And these I actually knew about but seeing them on Blogging pro, reminded me I needed to save the link)

Weekday Plugin
Will let you show the weekday (or Today, yesterday, Tuesday, Monday, etc. )

Comment Leader plugin
Lists the names of the people who comment the most on your blog

Seperate Trackback Popup page
Allows you to have your trackbacks on a completely seperate (pop up) page. (again, very much like MT)

That "Images for Headlines" thing is sweet! Dynamic image generation with cached output. The file sizes are small (all the things I'm using it for generate files under 1KB), and the antialiasing is very high quality. And if you use JavaScript to make the images/text swap, it'll degrade perfectly.

Is the comment leaders plugin supposed to work with WP 1.5? I got a syntax error; I figured since this is an older plugin it might not work with 1.5. If not, are you aware of any others that do the same thing for 1.5?

Thanks!
