MT-Search broken

Posted by: Jennifer In: Announcements

Ok – call for help! (Although, I doubt Chris can help on this one… could be wrong though) 😉 Ran the 2.2 MT upgrade on this site… and now it's all in mySQL (yay!) One problem though. MT-Search doesn't work anymore (as one would expect, since the entries are not where they used to be)…

I tried to find a solution on the MT boards, but since they moved servers, all the "see this thread" links are pointing to the wrong entries. (I think)

So! Here's MY request for help: Can this be fixed? Or do I have to install a new search type thingy(tm)? Personally, I use the search feature on this site quite often so it's a definite must have.

Heeelllp!!

Maybe you should look here:
Philringnalda: Edit mt-search.cgi or this thread in the MT Support Forum.

I think it would be easier to make a mySQL query that searched for strings in the fields.

I agree. Only catch might be how the table containing the actual entry text is set up.

OOoo! OOoo! It works!! It works!!! YAY!!!! Here's the fix in case I ever lose it again:

in Search.pm change this line:
$self->{'mt'} = MT::App::CMS->new( Config => $param{'mtconfig'} );

to this:
$self->{'mt'} = MT::App::CMS->new( Config => $param{'mtconfig'}, Directory => '/full/path/to/mt/directory/' );

Phil Ringnalda posted about needing to make one small change on his weblog. http://philringnalda.com/archives/002257.php

Fantastic! It was the one thing holding me back from the upgrade – I needed to find this fix since the MT boards had been modified. (Someone had posted on the Blogomania forums that it broke with the MySQL otherwise.) THANKS for posting your call for help!

Just thought I'd point people to the actual thread on the MT boards with this issue in case more info was needed :)
