I have moved from my link blog to del.icio.us. I used a PHP parser to parse the RSS feed to include on my site. Then with FeedBurner, you can automatically include a daily list of del.icio.us links to your site. It is kind of cool!

I tried quite some WP plugins to fetch del.icio.us links on my site, but they all seemed to breach the terms of use of del.icio.us (namely, not as many hits from a script as your homepage, i.e. use some caching). All but one: LinuxBrit's, which works like a charm. Go for it, if I may give my advice!

When I've gotten those 503 errors - it's NOT usually when I've been on it in the last hour+, so I would be surprised if it's a throttling issue. If that's the case - then there's something wrong with the throttle.

It's very unlikely but the 503 errors might be due to the fact that you're throttled by the server. There's some doc on this at http://del.icio.us/doc/api.

And there's a client app you might be interested in: Cocoal.icio.us (Can be found at http://scifihifi.com/cocoalicious/.
