My e-mail is in IMAP format for the current mail, and then I download my archives (to clear up server space). I have been using Thunderbird since I switched to Firefox, and I've been pretty happy with it. It's similar enough to Outlook that it wasn't a huge leap to change, and yet it doesn't have the same security holes.

I don't know why I thought you were asking for links, I was probably skipping around and came up with that on my own. Sorry.

Googlebot Detect and More (MSN & Yahoo bots)...he's set it up so there's a cron doing the scheduling thing (reset once monthly). Could this be fixed up so that the schedule is controlled by PHP?

As far as email clients go, I used to use Eudora (the freebie w/ads version), then recently tried Thunderbird. Which do I prefer overall? OE, yes that's right, I prefer OE ha ha.

But no WAY will I use OE again unless there's no other choice...b/c it's so easy to get infected unless you set stuff super duper strict (and could still get infected depending on MS's most recent breaches.

After OE, I guess I think Eudora and Thunderbird both have advantages and disadvantages from my point of view.

Eudora does NOT show attached images in the email; I had to open them with an external program. That's the main reason I switched to Thunderbird.

If you have smtp/imap's that require a non-standard port, go with TB. Because unless Eudora's changed their stmp setup, I had bear of a time figuring out how to change my smtp port. Then something like it applied to ALL accounts, not just the one I was editing.

TB has newsgroups. I don't think Eudora did.

Well, yes. At work, I don't really have a choice. At home, I do - what do you recommend? (and don't say gmail - I'm a little fed up with them for use as a "main" email account. They're not ready for "prime time" yet in my opinion)
