Voicemonkey
Hugh sent me an email telling me about a service called voicemonkey that he's developing. (Ok, I almost insta-deleted the email because I thought it might be spam. LOL!) But I signed up to give the service a try and it's pretty cool. (and FREE! at least for now while it's in beta-test mode) There's a few different levels you can sign up for - but the "blog" level I did works like this: there's one link (it never changes) and it will play you the latest message I've left. (Which in my case will likely always be the same, unless I get adventurous and start using it all the time.)
So if you've always wondered what I sounded like, if I had a NY or Boston accent, sounded like a wacko or whatever - Here's your chance to find out.

I've seen a few people using audblog which is similar.

Except I think Audblog actually sends the post over to your site and integrates the post in to MT. This looks really interesting - I'll have to play with it!

Well, I think you sound great… But why not do it yourself. Use Sound Recorder (comes with Windoze) and your mike to record a wav file, then use any of a number of free software available on the net to turn the wav into an mp3. Upload that to the directory of your choice on your site and link it from your webpage… voila. Or are there some benefits offered by these method you mentioned that I missed?

Well - basically the fact that it does all that FOR you. I just make a toll free phone call and it saves the message as an mp3 and you can hear it instantly by clicking that link. I'm picturing this as a perfect way to "blog" while stuck in traffic without a computer. Just make a phone call - rant away - all is right in my world again.

The convenience is definitely great. Also, some of us don't have microphones. Recording it by phone is pretty much the only way I can get an audio file of my own voice.
